Description
ACS712 30A Current Sensor Module
The ACS712 30A Current Sensor Module is a high-precision Hall-effect–based current sensing module designed to measure AC and DC current up to ±30 amperes. It provides a linear analog voltage output proportional to the current flowing through the sensor, while maintaining electrical isolation between the power circuit and the control circuit.
Working Principle
The ACS712 operates on the Hall Effect principle:
-
When current flows through the internal copper conduction path, it generates a magnetic field.
-
A Hall sensor inside the IC detects this magnetic field.
-
The IC converts it into a proportional analog voltage output.
-
The output voltage shifts above or below a midpoint (Vcc/2) depending on current direction.
This allows safe and isolated current measurement without direct electrical contact.
