IoT Based Smart Energy Management System

The prototype of the IoT and GSM-Based Smart Energy Monitoring and Control System was developed using an Arduino Mega as the central controller. The ACS712 current sensor and ZMPT101 voltage sensor were connected to the Arduino to measure current and voltage, while a PIR motion sensor was used to detect human presence for automatic appliance control. The relay module controlled lights and fans based on sensor input. A 5V SMPS provided stable power to all components. For remote monitoring, the NodeMCU uploaded real-time data to Google Sheets, and the GSM module enabled SMS updates on user request. An LCD display was also integrated to show voltage, current, power, energy consumption, and cost locally. This prototype demonstrates how sensors, microcontrollers, and communication modules can work together to provide automated and remote energy management in a practical setup.
