Project Overview

The Bidirectional Visitor Counter with Automatic Load Control is an intelligent electronic system designed to count the number of people entering and exiting a room and automatically control electrical loads such as lights and fans based on occupancy. Working Principle

The system works using infrared (IR) sensors placed at the entrance of a room.

1. Two IR sensors are installed at the doorway to detect movement.

2. When a person enters:

   • The first sensor is triggered, followed by the second.

   • The counter increments.

3. When a person exits:

   • The second sensor is triggered first, then the first.

   • The counter decrements.

4. The current number of occupants is displayed on an LCD screen.

5. If the visitor count is greater than zero:

   • Electrical loads (lights, fans) are automatically turned ON.

6. When the visitor count becomes zero:

   • All connected loads are automatically turned OFF.

7. The entire process is controlled by a microcontroller.
